About

What gets written here is whatever turned out to be harder than expected at work or mine projects. Each post gets written once the problem is actually solved if it was about it.

Trying to keep everything here human-written, including the posts about AI tooling.

About me

I work as a tech lead on AI direction and solution architect, developer on Magento. My commercial experience started in 2016 with PHP, roughly 10 years ago now. I've worked with Magento since 2019. Building and optimizing high-traffic online stores with large catalogs.

These days doing mostly architecture plans, building (writing) complex or unusual/hard things myself. Backend, frontend, and infrastructure. Trying to keep the business need in view when it matters.

PHP is my main language. I use Bash heavily for automation, CI/CD, and Docker tooling [but does this actually matters ourdays?)]. Have experience with JavaScript and TypeScript, Vue (loved son), Next.js and React (both are not). Built production systems in Go: proxy servers, load balancers, database tooling. Have some Java (fun fact I did mod for Minecraft) and Python experience. Beyond Magento, I've worked with Shopware 6, WooCommerce, Akeneo and Hyvä.

Built multiple production RAG systems (using Qdrant and Redis), embedding caches, hybrid retrieval, reranking, response caching. Have experience making it real work, LoRA

Experience

Since I have been working at GoMage, developing Magento 2 projects. The largest of them started as a Magento 1 store and became a multi-website platform running 26 storefronts and a B2B portal - migration, architecture, and most of the hard parts since.

Much of that work was performance. Custom Varnish VCLs, ESI blocks, a Go proxy in front of Varnish, CDN, and a long tail of custom modules refactored/implemented. Dynamics 365 ERP for orders, prices, and stock, an Akeneo PIM catalog, and the usual payment and shipping providers. Implemented a huge system that covers a lot of aspects, making the path from order to shipment simpler for the merchant as possible.

Since I've also been Tech Lead at GoAI, building backends for e-commerce AI assistants and a lot of other purposes - retrieval-augmented generation over Qdrant, and the caching layers for responses and embeddings that keep it affordable to run at volume.

Before: Magento 2 extension development at Amasty. Being a developer I refactored a couple of their published modules, my architecture have been taken as a basis and completed with a team; WooCommerce and data-pipeline work at GlavTelecom; and several years of freelance storefront and custom PHP work going back to .
